There is nothing better than holding fast to this choice, beer for hair development. It is protected, easy to use and also free from a wide range of reactions.
While the proteins found in malt and hops that are the active ingredients in beer can actually repair your damaged hair, the sucrose and maltose sugars work on the hair cuticles to strengthen them and to make them shiny. So if your hair is lacking shine, all you need might be a bottle of beer to revive the volume and shine. Here’s how you can use beer to wash your hair.
Before using the beer on your hair, you need to de-carbonate the beer otherwise when the carbon dioxide of the beer is combined with water, it can create hard water, which will make it difficult for you to wash your hair. Also, hard water or water with high mineral content can make your hair rough and tangled. To de-carbonate the beer, pour it in a bowl and let it sit overnight, so that it oxidizes after getting exposed to the air.
Before you use beer, rinse your hair with water and then use your regular shampoo to clean the scalp. Rinse the shampoo, but do not use conditioner as you will be using the beer as your hair conditioner.
After you have rinsed your hair, pour some beer on your hair and massage it into your scalp for a minute or so. Massage it gently so that it lathers up. You can also dip your hair ends in the bowl containing beer to let it set in your hair before rinsing your hair and scalp with beer.
Rinse off the beer and towel dry your hair. You might see the results only after a few washes. But do not wash it every day otherwise it can make your hair a little dry.
But you can counteract the drying effect by adding few drops of essential oils as per your need to add extra nourishment. You can enhance your beer wash by adding lemon essential oil if you want to add shine and at the same time fight dandruff. Add chamomile essential oil if you want to soften your hair and add shine to the hair shaft. Adding sandalwood essential oil to the beer wash will work on your split ends and lavender essential oil will act as a deep conditioner and add antioxidants to your hair.
